Dear Cultural Survival Community,

For close to five decades, Cultural Survival has been working towards the fulfillment and upholding of Indigenous rights and Indigenous Peoples’ self-determination worldwide.

None of this work could have been possible without our community of generous supporters. We are honored to have many committed, long-time partners such as Jerome and Janet Regier, who say, “The question of one's legacy is not fundamentally about money but about commitment to a world, including those who dwell therein. Numerous worlds of Indigenous Peoples are currently being forcibly subjected to unsolicited political domination, and dynamic ways of life forged over centuries are thereby being threatened. For several decades, we have donated to Cultural Survival because this organization, now largely Indigenous itself, provides tools -- both political and material -- to combat cultural domination by outsiders. The Cultural Survival staff are exceptional stewards of our donations. Their goals target important projects, like local Indigenous radio broadcasting and support of women as leaders. The Cultural Survival staff are there to assist Indigenous communities as these communities
themselves decide how to deal with change. Our commitment to Cultural Survival is ongoing, not simply because Indigenous worlds make our own world richer, but more importantly because Indigenous worlds deserve to exist at least as much as our own.”

We are deeply grateful for the Regier’s commitment to Indigenous rights over the past few decades. We continue to build relationships that are not transactional but deeply embedded in Indigenous values of reciprocity, giving, sharing, and generosity, relationship building, kinship, and ultimately radical love. Money and charitable giving is just one manifestation of energy. We honor our amazing community who have given so much to us through expressions of solidarity, support, heartfelt advice, offering connections, sharing and exchanging resources, participating in strategy building, and those who have celebrated our achievements.

Join us in celebrating 49 years of milestones by donating to our #CS50 anniversary campaign! We’ve launched our countdown to our Annual Day of Giving, June 1, as we approach our 50th anniversary in 2022. Make a gift ([link removed]) to support Indigenous rights and Indigenous Peoples’ self-determination today!

Thank you for your partnership, as it plays a critical role for us to carry out our work. We ask you again, to renew your commitment so we can continue to support Indigenous Peoples and our environments worldwide.

In solidarity and gratitude,
Galina Angarova (Buryat)
Executive Director

Cultural Survival advocates for Indigenous Peoples' rights and supports Indigenous communities’ self-determination, cultures and political resilience since 1972. We envision a future that respects and honors Indigenous Peoples' inherent rights and dynamic cultures, deeply and richly interwoven in lands, languages, spiritual traditions, and artistic expression, rooted in self-determination and self-governance.
