John, this just in around redistricting:
According to sources like the Wall Street Journal, Republicans have the final authority to draw congressional lines in 187 House districts across the country — more than twice as many as Democrats — because of the power they've built in state governments over the years.
John, we've said this before but it bears repeating, especially with this latest piece of news: we need to be ready for anything and everything that comes our way. Will you please donate $3 or whatever you're able to support our campaign as we fight to defend our majority in the House, organize within our district, and support progressive candidates across the country?

Right now, Democrats are barely holding on to a House majority; the Biden administration holds one of the slimmest majorities at just seven seats between Democrats and Republicans. The state-level lawmakers who determine the new congressional lines — many of whom are Republican — will undoubtedly keep that in mind as redistricting plans materialize.
This news only increases the urgency around something we've known all along: we will need to work harder to defend a Democratic majority in the next election. In New York, we ended up losing a seat in the House — but we were just 89 people short of not losing any.
We're still unsure on what redistricting will look like in our state, and what that will specifically mean for Jamaal's district of New York's 16th. But one thing we do know about all of this is that the stakes are high, and we can't leave anything to chance — not now, and not in 2022.
It's going to take all of us to make sure we can maintain our majority, grow our progressive coalition in Congress, and be ready for anything that might come our way, John. Please chip in to our campaign today.
