John โ
Democratic party leader, Jaime Harrison, and liberals from all over the country are coming after me.
Why? Because I've taken a strong, conservative stance on addressing South Carolina's unprecedented labor shortage.
April's abysmal jobs report makes it clear โ federally subsidized unemployment benefits that can exceed someone's pre-pandemic paycheck โ are keeping able-bodied South Carolinians from returning to work.
Even when it's hard, I will always do the right thing. Even when it means attacks from Democratic National Committee Chair, Jaime Harrison, or my Democrat opponent, I will stand up for what I believe will make South Carolina better.
John, I am counting on conservative leaders like you to stand with me. Will you make an urgent campaign contribution of $5, $10, $25, $50, or even $100 today?
The pandemic-related unemployment benefits were intended to provide short-term financial assistance for the vulnerable and displaced during the height of the pandemic.
That's why several states, like Montana, Arkansas, and Alabama are joining South Carolina to end pandemic federal unemployment benefits to help us get back to work!
John, I am counting on you to help me fight back against the attacks from the Left as I lead South Carolina into a post-pandemic economy. Chip in today to help!
Yours very truly,
Henry McMaster Governor of South Carolina
P.S. If we continue to let the government pay folks more to stay home, we'll continue down the road to socialism. I am ready to do whatever I can to end the labor shortage here in South Carolina, but it's drawing the ire of the Left. Please stand with me against the radical Left today!
