COPE is hosting an online webinar for members which looks at how diversity, equity and inclusion relate to publication ethics and editorial decision making.

** ABOUT THE WEBINAR

The webinar will be of interest to anyone involved in scholarly research and publishing who are interested in learning more about:
* the impact of discriminatory practices in peer review and editorial decision making
* recommendations for the promotion of social justice and equality within scholarly publishing
* best practices around identity and name changes, including examples of publishers who are implementing name change policies
* dealing with historical offensive content - this will be a discussion item and we invite and encourage your input. Please come prepared with your thoughts and suggestions.

Deborah will introduce some of the issues that will be examined in more depth in a new discussion document on “Diversity and inclusivity”.

Rachel Safer
COPE Council Member and Senior Publisher, Oxford University Press
Rachel will discuss the progress of COPE’s new discussion document on “Best practices around identity and name changes”.

Caroline Porter
COPE Trustee and Executive Publisher, SAGE Publishing
Caroline will examine the issues around historical offensive content.

COPE Vice-Chair and Emeritus Editor, Obstetrics and Gynecology
