Uh oh, John -- On the heels of the passage of a new voter suppression law in Florida, Texas Republicans are sprinting to pass their own new voting restrictions in what many are calling the nation’s biggest battleground state:
It’s all a part of their nefarious plan to hold power even when voters try to kick them out:
- FIRST, make it as difficult as possible to vote in hopes that turnout will be low enough to hand Republicans a win.
- THEN, when voters defy their restrictions and cast their ballots anyway, gerrymander the maps so badly that the actual votes are irrelevant.
- That’s why we need your help NOW to fight back on both of these fronts and stop Republicans from locking themselves into power indefinitely!
If we do nothing, these assaults on voting rights combined with the power of extreme partisan gerrymandering could hand Republicans the levers of power for the next ten years or more. We’re fighting back, but we can’t do any of our work without support from people like you.
If you can, pitch in now to help us keep up our fight for fair maps and voting rights:
