Bernie and Pramila published an op-ed in The Washington Post today that
makes the urgent case for expanding Medicare and improving its benefits.

Bernie and Pramila understand how critical this fight is — a necessary
push to lower the Medicare eligibility age, expand Medicare to cover
dental, hearing, and vision care, and empower Medicare to negotiate
prescription drug prices. They also know how important this step is in
achieving Medicare for All.

President Biden campaigned on lowering the Medicare eligibility age and
lowering prescription drug prices. These policies are also overwhelmingly
popular with voters. And they’re incredibly urgent: 40 million people
could be added to Medicare. People could finally get critical dental care.
Prescription costs for families could plummet.

It’s clear that expanding Medicare belongs in President Biden’s American
Families Plan. Bernie and Pramila know that we need to fight for this in
Congress, in the media, in our communities, and everywhere else.

win an expansion of Medicare. It would be a huge step forward in our fight
to win Medicare for All.

We all know that the current for-profit health care system in America is
broken. So broken that it costs lives not to guarantee health care as a
human right. It’s time that we took a big step towards Medicare for All by
implementing these transformative health care reforms.

In solidarity,

Team Jayapal
