Representative Elaine Luria understands the importance of addressing climate change. She’s running for a third term to represent Virginia’s Second Congressional District, and has seen first hand the sea-level rise challenges facing Hampton Roads. Now, she faces a tough re-election race.

Luria served in the Navy as a Surface Warfare Officer and nuclear engineer for 20 years deploying six times. In April, a strong opponent emerged - state Senator Jen Kiggans (R) - who also served in the Navy as a helicopter pilot. If Kiggans wins the Republican nomination, this would set up a tight race between two Navy veterans.

Luria has been a vocal opponent to offshore drilling, opposition towards policies that incentivize fossil fuel development, and the need to continue restoring the health of the Chesapeake Bay. This community needs to make sure she gets the support she needs to send her back to Congress!

With such a slim (5 seat) pro-environment majority in the House of Representatives, it is crucial that this community protects every vulnerable climate champion this cycle. Help send Rep.
