John,
President Biden’s successful vaccine distribution plan has put America on track to beat the coronavirus pandemic. But in places like India and South America, a lack of vaccine access has created a catastrophic outbreak of COVID-19 cases among their populations, and millions of people are suffering.
President Biden has chosen to once again make America a moral and empathetic global leader by pushing the World Trade Organization to waive intellectual property protections on effective COVID-19 vaccines. This would give every country in the world the opportunity to produce effective vaccines, save lives, and protect their people against the coronavirus.
I want to take a moment to send President Biden a card from our team — he deserves to be thanked for his moral leadership during this time of global crisis:
Since day one of his administration, President Biden has demonstrated the moral clarity needed to lead us out of this pandemic. His decision is another example of his willingness to take action so that the U.S. and the world can put this pandemic behind us. I’m grateful for his leadership.
