We're excited to share with you some more good news about our
coalition's legislative work! The Born-Alive Abortion
Survivors Act (SB405) passed the NC Senate a short while ago
by a 28-21 vote.
Everyone should be able to agree that the
circumstances surrounding a child at birth should not determine their
right to life.
The bill guarantees the right to life of baby
girls and boys who were born after an attempted abortion. It also
guarantees compassion and perinatal medical services to any infant
born alive as a result of an abortion. We thank Senators Joyce
Krawiec, Lisa Barnes, and Amy Galey for their work to protect the
lives of the tiniest North Carolinians.
Now,
we turn to the NC House.
Just yesterday we asked
for your help in contacting the NC Senate in support of the
bill. Over 1,100+ of you responded in less than 24
hours. We know firsthand that when you take the time to
contact your Representative, they not only hear you, but it impacts
their attitude towards a bill.
We now need your help
ensuring the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Act (SB405) passes
in the NC House.
Could we ask you to keep our
legislative momentum going by clicking
here to contact your NC House Representatives and
asking them to oppose infanticide in NC by voting FOR the
Born-Alive Abortion Survivors
Act (SB405)?
PS:
Do you support the hard work we do advocating for state legislation
that protects your values? If so, would you consider making a $10,
$25, $50, $100, or more donation towards helping us cover costs
related to these efforts?
Sincerely,
Tami Fitzgerald
