Friend,

It takes 218 seats in Congress to hold a majority. So how many do the Democrats currently have? 218.

Technically Democrats enjoy a 6 seat majority over Republicans, but that’s only because 5 seats are vacant. If those seats get filled by Republicans, our hold on Congress is down to one – just one.

That’s why we are directing all of our focus on the special election to fill the vacant congressional seat in New Mexico’s first congressional district on June 1st. Democrat Melanie Stansbury is facing off against Republican Mark Moores. The seat was just vacated by Deb Haaland after she joined the Biden administration, so Republican interest groups are already spending a ton of money on Morres in hopes they can flip the Democratic seat. But Operation 147 is not going to let that happen.

On January 6th our opponents made it clear that they’re willing to lie, cheat, steal, and worse to get their way in Washington, D.C. A one seat majority in Congress is not large enough to withstand that kind of an assault. Yes, we need to do everything we can to hold onto the majority in 2022, but if we don’t win this race in NM-1, we could be on a path to being one heartbeat away from losing our congressional majority before 2022.

We are all hands on deck to elect Melanie Stansbury, defend NM-1 and defend our Congressional Majority. Our democracy hangs in the balance, there is no room for error. Will you chip in $5 dollars to help us defend our 2021 Democratic majority?

Jana Lynne Sanchez lost by only 234 votes in TX-6. This time, with your support, we're winning.
