My name is GlenEva Dunham, and I have the honor of serving as the President of the Gary Teachers Union, Local 4. Additionally, I’m also proud to serve as President of the American Federation of Teachers Indiana.

Representing thousands of teachers across Indiana, I know firsthand what a challenging year 2020 was for our profession.

In my 40-years as an educator, I’ve never seen more demands on our professional and personal resources, as we worked with our students while facing a pandemic health crisis.

But through it all, Northwest Indiana was fortunate to have Representative Frank Mrvan standing up for us in Congress. 

Rep. Mrvan understands the particular challenges for school administrators, teachers, children, and families during these difficult circumstances. 

He moved heaven and earth to ensure our communities' interests were a priority when passing the American Rescue Plan. He fought to make sure educators, school districts, and families received the direct support they needed to begin to recover from the effects of COVID-19.
