John, I wanted to take a moment to wish you all a belated happy Mother's Day.

I hope that all mothers and strong women had a peaceful and beautiful Mother's Day, and were able to come together to celebrate the special people in your lives — or yourself. 

I also wanted to recognize that for many, Mother's Day is a difficult day. This year, it may have looked and felt a lot different than it did in the past. Just this past February I lost my mom, Ms. Pauline Bowman, to COVID-19 and my world was forever changed.

But one thing that remains steadfast in my life are the lessons of love, resilience, and generosity that my mother instilled in me. These are the same attributes that she shared with her friends and community, and that's why today, I would like to continue honoring her legacy.

John, in honor of Mother's Day, will you make a gift to the Pauline Bowman fund to help support the youth of Mount Vernon? All donations made to the fund will support the Boys and Girls Club of Mount Vernon's Dinner and Summer Feeding Programs and the Community Clothing and Food COVID Relief Program.
