John,
In 2017, Philadelphia turned the page on decades of failed tough on crime policies, electing civil rights lawyer Larry Krasner to the office of District Attorney.
Under his leadership, Philadelphia has fought against racism and inequality in policing and the courts, and worked to be a city that’s truly just for all of its residents. But Larry is facing a tough challenge from the right in next week’s primary, and the Fraternal Order of Police has been funneling tens of thousands of dollars into his opponent’s campaign.
This election is the difference between lives saved and lives shattered by the criminal legal system, John, and we need your help.

Let’s talk about what having a progressive DA really means for Philadelphia.
In the last four years, Larry Krasner has:
- Reduced the county jail population by 40%,
- Kept 98% of juvenile arrest cases in juvenile court,
- Reformed the cash bail system, increasing the number of people released pre-trial when there is no public safety risk, and
- Developed a do-not-call list of officers who should not be called to the stand due to abuse of power.
And the work isn’t done. If Larry is re-elected, he’s pledged to fight for increased funding and use of evidence-based violence interruption programs in our hardest-hit neighborhoods, as well as invest critical resources into restorative justice alternatives for juveniles and young adults.
These reforms have made and will continue to make Philadelphia a safer and more fair place to live. But they’ve also ticked off the people profiting off of mass incarceration, mass supervision, and over-policing.
That’s why the Trump supporter-backed Protect Our Police PAC and the Fraternal Order of Police have propped up a candidate ready to take Philadelphia back to the days when it was one of the most incarcerated cities in the country.
But we aren’t going back.
Will you split a donation between the Working Families Party and the Krasner campaign now? Whatever you can give will keep us moving forward towards transforming this system to something more fair and equitable for all.
