Forensic Interviews Break Records
The month of April year-to-year 2019-2021
These numbers reflect the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, showing the drop in child abuse reports which led to fewer forensic interviews during 2020, and the large increase in reports leading to our highest number of interviews during 2021.
Want to learn how to prevent child abuse in your community? Sign up for our Stewards of Children® course below.
April was a record-breaking month for forensic interview numbers at Alliance For Children. Children are raising their voices to speak about abuse they may have endured, and protective adults are listening.

The COVID-19 pandemic separated many children from protective adults, meaning that they did not have a safe person to share their story with. Now that schools are back in person, we have seen an increase in reports of abuse. We have also seen that the prevention education we provide throughout the school year reinforces personal body and Internet safety to children.

When a child makes an outcry of abuse and a report is made, the multidisciplinary team at Alliance For Children goes into action, investigating the alleged abuse and helping the child on their path to healing. Reporting suspected child abuse is essential to the healing and safety of our community's children.
Stewards of Children®
Child sexual abuse doesn’t discriminate and can impact children in all zip codes and walks of life. Join us for a Stewards of Children® training and learn what role you have in protecting children.

Through interviews with child sexual abuse survivors, experts, and treatment providers, Stewards of Children® teaches adults applicable, practical actions they can take to reduce instances of child sexual abuse in their organizations, family, and community.

This virtual course is available at no charge and CEUs are provided for social workers, counselors, nurses, and educators.
