In South America, Community Organizing Helps Beat Climate
Change
 

Droughts are more frequent, and when the rain comes, water floods through fields and into homes. This is life in the Gran Chaco region, which stretches from Argentina through portions of Paraguay and into Bolivia. In recent years, local people have organized to prepare for their new climate reality. One solution is a crowd-sourced early warning system for flooding. Read more.

U.S. Trade Associations Shift Stance on Carbon Pricing 

U.S. trade associations have long blocked U.S. climate action—stalling action worldwide. Recently, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Business Roundtable, and even the American Petroleum Institute voiced support for carbon pricing. WRI’s Amy Meyer and Jillian Neuberger unpack these shifts. “If associations back up their positive statements and bring their political and financial force to bear, they could be an incredibly influential force in creating a brighter future for all,” they write. Read more.
