The Kansas Democratic Party has recently partnered with an outreach organization called Contest Every Race in a text messaging effort to engage Kansas Democrats who are interested in running for office or volunteering with the Party. We are happy to report that Contest Every Race has texted over 112,000 Kansans this cycle. Nearly 2,000 people have opted-in as potential candidates, and we’ve drawn in close to 1,000 volunteers.

These numbers are a great sign. They show us that the momentum that carried us into 2021 was only just the beginning of the surge in Democrats stepping up to the plate in Kansas.

We are working hard to keep voters engaged and motivated as we move forward into 2022. It is more crucial than ever that Democrats step up to fight against the disastrous GOP agenda. With active engagement up, we are confident that we will continue to see great results as we push forward in our effort to make Kansas a safer and more equitable place.

Kansas Democrats should be inspired by this wave of participation -- this has been a tremendously successful statewide recruitment program. However, texting 100,000 Kansans is a costly endeavor and we cannot do it without the support of passionate Democrats like you.
