We often critique the ills of the Western church, as if we have no part in its abuses of power and entanglements with culture. But for the church to move forward, those of us within this body will need to detox from our habits which are shaped more by culture than by Christ.

As we re-emerge from our time of shutdown and re-engage in “normal” life, how can we do so without reverting back to our previous postures of power toxicity or faith passivity? How might we reimagine a new normal in our personal habits of faith and in the communal life of the church?
