Dear John,

There is no question voting rights are under attack. Last Thursday Florida became the latest state to pass a controversial voting law, making it harder for eligible voters to raise their voice at the ballot box.

As the assault on our voting rights continues it’s more important than ever to fight for meaningful democracy reform. That’s why we’re asking you to raise your voice in support of S1, the For the People Act.

Today, the Rules committee in the Senate will hold an important markup hearing on S.1, a once-in-a-generation bill that will expand and protect the freedom to vote, end partisan and racial gerrymandering, get big-polluter money out of politics and restore transparency and accountability in our government.

To protect climate progress we must protect our right to vote. Tell your Senators to fight for a stronger democracy!

The For the People Act is a historic opportunity to pass meaningful reforms to our democracy, by modernizing our voting systems, bolstering election security and breaking down barriers that make it harder to vote.

By addressing issues like these, we’re able to ensure that every vote is counted and every voice is heard, giving power back to the people and communities who face the biggest barriers and bear the brunt of the injustices — many of whom live near polluting facilities or abandoned waste dumps.

We must all work to ensure that voting is safe and accessible in order to further the fight for a cleaner future. Only our collective voice will advance common sense legislation that helps to clean up our air and water while fighting for a healthier planet.

When barriers to voting exist, concerns about our air, water and land are ignored in favor of big polluter interests. Urge your Senators to support S.1, the For the People Act

Thank you for your continued leadership,
