Yesterday, CNN's Jake Tapper declared that Democrats would likely have to settle for "half a loaf" when it comes to the For The People Act to protect voting rights and address urgent threats to our democracy.

Really?? Did we oppose only half the insurrection? Do we want only half the right to vote?

We can't accept "half a loaf" democracy. We need a ROBUST For The People Act to protect the leading democracy in the world.

SIGN ON HERE: I support passing a robust For The People Act to protect voting rights and ensure our democracy stays STRONG. We're keeping our allies in the Senate informed as tens of thousands more people sign.

The "For the People Act" is a sweeping package to ensure our freedom to vote, get big money out of politics, guarantee that congressional districts are drawn to give fair representation for all, and realize the promise of our democracy.

It needs to stay that way.

Tomorrow the Senate Rules Committee will formally start deciding the specifics of what will go in the Senate version of the For The People Act that the House passed last month. That will be a HUGE test for Democrats.

We cannot compromise on dismantling barriers erected to keep Black, Indigenous, young, and new Americans from voting.

We cannot compromise on new waves of racist voter suppression.

For democracy to work for all Americans, it must include all Americans.

It’s time for our Congress to pass and sign into law the For the People Act. And Democrats must ensure that it is robust enough that our democracy represents and responds to the needs of all Americans.

SIGN ON IF YOU AGREE: I support passing the most the For The People Act -- a federal law that will override racist state voter suppression laws and protect our democracy.

Thanks for being a bold progressive.
