Monday Nature Mystery

We are pleased to announce the winner of last week's Monday Nature Mystery, Su Kim! Please email us your snail mail address and preference for a hat or tote bag to: [email protected]

Su correctly identified the stunning photo of Virginia Bluebells (Mertensia virginica). The nodding clusters of blooms start off pink and mature to blue as they open and will last for several weeks. This spring ephemeral can be found in woodlands that have well-drained rich soil. A bonus - they are deer resistant!
