The global gag rule requires that foreign organizations receiving U.S. global health assistance stop using their own funds for abortion referrals or to provide abortion care. This anti-choice policy forces clinics to offer fewer services, turn away patients, and even shut down entirely.

It’s deadly. And — even though Biden has rescinded the rule — we must seize our chance to ensure no future president puts the well-being of hundreds of millions of people at risk in the name of anti-choice ideology.

The Global Health, Empowerment and Rights (HER) Act would stop future administrations from ever instituting this policy again. Tell Congress to pass it NOW.

Every body regardless of where they live should have access to the reproductive healthcare they desperately need.

But for DECADES, Republican presidents have used the anti-choice global gag rule to weaponize global health funding and attack access to reproductive healthcare — disproportionately harming women, girls, LGBTQ+ people, and others who face systemic barriers to care.

Tell Congress to pass the Global HER Act and permanently end the global gag rule, protecting access to sexual and reproductive healthcare for everyone, no matter where they live.
