Team, it's Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month. Through May, our nation is celebrating the AAPI community, and this year, it carries an extra significance.
As cases of COVID-19 rose, so did hate crimes targeted at the AAPI community. In the past year alone, there were 3,800 anti-Asian racist and xenophobic incidents, mostly against women.
The Collective Future is standing in solidarity with the AAPI community against bigotry and hate. Countless AAPI community members marched in the streets with us as we fought for justice for George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and the countless Black Americans who have died at the hands of this racist system. So we are marching by their sides, too, to say in one voice: "My race is not a virus."
