Today is Jerusalem Day and we have all been bracing ourselves for what may transpire given the rising tensions.
Recent days have seen an escalation in violence in Jerusalem. With the violent events at Al Aqsa Mosque, police crackdowns on Palestinian protesters, the threat of home evictions in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood of East Jerusalem, the city is in a state of crisis. As Hamas rockets have fallen on Jerusalem and the south — and have been met by retaliatory attacks in Gaza, this is a highly volatile and dynamic situation — and we don’t know where it will lead.
Join us for an urgent conversation on Wednesday May 12 at 11am Pacific / 2pm Eastern with leading Palestinian and Israeli experts from Jerusalem to update about what is happening on the ground, what Israelis and Palestinians are doing, and what we can do from afar.
We will be talking with leading experts: Regional Director for Alliance for Middle East Peace (ALLMEP) and East Jerusalemite Huda Abuarquob, Peace Now Settlement Watch Director Hagit Ofran, and founder of Terrestrial Jerusalem Daniel Seidemann.
