The US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) recently began the process of reviewing the harmful Title X gag rule. This means you have the opportunity to make your voice heard. Please urge the Biden-Harris administration to quickly undo the gag rule—the deadline is Monday, May 17!
When the Trump administration put the domestic gag rule in place it withheld Title X funding from health centers that refer patients for abortion care or provide abortion care with non-Title X funds. As a result, more than 900 health centers lost critical funding, leaving patients with fewer options for care. In fact, health centers served 844,000 fewer patients in just one year, a 22% decrease. This has exacerbated the barriers that those living in contraceptive deserts already face.
Now is the time to undo the bad regulations so that everyone—no matter who they are, where they live, or how much money they make—has the birth control they need. Please submit your comment to HHS today on the importance of swiftly rescinding the Title X gag rule.
