It’s been a whirlwind since I announced my decision to run as a Republican candidate for President of the United States.

It’s been a whirlwind since I announced my decision to run as a Republican candidate for President of the United States.

As you might imagine since announcing my candidacy I have not sat idle contemplating campaign strategies inside the four walls of an office. Rather I did what I knew was right – I hit the road – I went out and talked to voters across South Carolina, New Hampshire, Iowa and southern California. I started conversations, I listened and I debated. In many ways I am inspired by what I learned and yet, in some ways I am concerned about what I heard.
I travelled South Carolina from top to bottom to address the South Carolina Republican Party’s Executive Committee’s decision to cancel the “First in the South” Republican primary. Without primaries we are diminishing voters’ rights to fully participate in the democratic process. So, appreciating that the lack of a primary will negate a robust debate, I brought along my own cardboard life-sized Donald J. Trump to engage in debate. Truth be told Donald seemed a little bit flat.

In New Hampshire, I was struck by the number of Republican voters who would like an alternative to Trump and the degree to which they wanted to see debate on important issues. Granite State voters are deeply interested and concerned about how we are going to control and contain our nation’s debt, deficits and spending.

In Iowa, I learned first-hand that Iowa is indeed a swing state. I met many die hard Trump supporters and equally as many voters with resolve to welcome and consider other candidates.

In southern California I met with folks dedicated to advocating for the well-being of our planet, our oceans, waves and beaches and was the keynote speaker at the Tribalism in American Politics Conference at the University of Southern California.

In September I closed out the month with an appearance on Comedy Central's Daily Show with Trevor Noah.

October is shaping up to be an even bigger month for us. I’m heading back to New Hampshire this week, will be hitting the road for a bit before I head to New York to participate in CITIZEN by CNN and then Washington for C-SPAN’s “Conversation with the 2020 Republican Presidential Contenders."

Although, I have been reticent about asking people for help on my campaign I now see some measure of movement in places like New Hampshire and other parts of the country. This project is too important and too big for me just to leave it as, “I’ll say what I have to say and go home.” I am 25-plus years invested in this chapter of my life, in core Republican values and fiscal conservatism. For the sake of this cause. I ask now that you invest with me.

So, please if you would volunteer some time; we welcome you to join us. Please visit [link removed] and come aboard.

Write a Letter to the Editor and send it to your local and regional news outlets about how crazy it is that we are having a national presidential debate with no one talking about our country’s imploding financial state.

Please if you would engage in dialogue with family, friends, neighbors and colleagues about where we are as a nation and where we are going. Engage them in a discussion about the perilous future given our national debt, deficits and out-of-control government spending. Talk among your peers about how we collectively address restoring civility, humility and respect in our government and with our local and global community. For updates, in-depth perspective on debt, deficit and spending and our campaign please visit www. ([link removed]) marksanford.com ([link removed]) . ([link removed])

Most importantly, if you would get 10 friends to send$10.00 ([link removed]) each to my campaign. Would you ask them? It’s easy Go to www.marksanford.com ([link removed]) . Although, I welcome help at all levels I appreciate that a little goes a long way to let our voices be heard by sparking dialogue and debate on critical issues before us. We can’t wait another four years to have this debate.

Please join me. It is time to let our voices be heard.

Kind regards,
