My father was brought to this country from Poland when he was just four years old, having escaped the horrors of the Holocaust. Building a life here from scratch wasn't always easy for him, but his experiences taught me a lesson I will never forget: Education is the one thing no one can take away from you. I saw it firsthand when I taught high school chemistry in North Philadelphia and later when I helped lead an early childhood literacy nonprofit. A fundamental aspect of the American dream is the ability to pursue an education, and I’m committed to ensuring every Pennsylvanian gets their shot at the American dream.

Our education is more than just a diploma. It's a gateway to good-paying jobs that our country desperately needs right now. Our workforce is changing every day, and we must change with it to meet the needs of our 21st century workforce. Community colleges play a crucial role in helping prepare our young Pennsylvanians for the jobs of tomorrow, which is why I'm so excited to announce tomorrow night’s Fireside Chat with the President of Delaware County Community College, Dr. L.
