Tomorrow, Senate leaders from both sides of the aisle will meet in the Rules Committee to debate the For the People Act — and Senators could try to tear out components from this bill and protect the corrupt status quo. 

But lawmakers won’t weaken this bill if thousands of Americans reach out and urge them not to. Will you pick up the phone and call Rules Committee Senate leaders before tomorrow’s hearing to help ensure they don’t destroy this once-in-a-generation bill?

Frankly, John — tomorrow’s hearing may be a bit of a fiasco. We expect some Rules Committee members to make a desperate attempt at weakening this bill — adding poison pill amendments to protect billionaires and special interests at the expense of you and your family. 

Every single component of this bill is integral to the future of our democracy. And we need to fight back to make sure lawmakers don’t weaken it when they meet tomorrow. 

As much as Senators may want to weaken the For the People Act, they care about getting re-elected that much more. A wave of public pressure on these lawmakers before tomorrow will show them that voters are watching carefully and they won’t get away with weakening the bill unnoticed.

That’s why it’s so important that you call Senate leaders on the Rules Committee now and urge them to protect the For the People Act.
