John, we think you should see this…
Our least-favorite seditionist and Trump lapdog, Ted Cruz, recently posted this on Twitter.
It's a stark reminder that, despite the fact that Women's Marchers kicked Donald Trump out of the White House last election, Trump's allies like Cruz are *still* in the Senate doing his bidding. And now, they're setting their sights on the House AND Senate majorities that women and allies organized tirelessly to win.
We urgently need to defend the progress we've made, John. Flipping the White House and Senate wasn't easy, and it didn't happen overnight. These wins were the direct result of this team's tireless work — and making sure that the GOP doesn't roll back our progress, either at the ballot box or in state legislatures, requires organizing work all year round. There can be no "off-years" for our movement.
Women's March is proud to be working around the clock to protect the progress we've won together and to advocate for swift passage of pro-woman and pro-family legislation like the American Jobs Plan and the American Families Plan. But we can't waste a moment as Ted Cruz, Donald Trump, and the rest of their Sedition Caucus in Congress plan to try to retake political power in elections to come.
We know that in order to defend our majorities, fend off their attacks on our elections, and make sure anti-woman politicians like Cruz never win reelection again, we need to get organized earlier than ever before. So, will you donate $3 or more to support Women's March's early organizing efforts to build women's political power and defend our hard-won progress?
John, Women's March has already had a busy start to the month of May. Together, this team took nine different actions every day from May Day to Mother's Day to fight to build equity and political power for women.
And before that, we petitioned to expel seditionists like Ted Cruz and wrote thousands of letters to his top funders to get them to cease and desist their support.
Thanks entirely to grassroots support, Women's Marchers are organizing around the clock so we can defeat horrible politicians like Cruz in elections to come and pass the urgent feminist policies we need and deserve. But that work is all powered by grassroots supporters like you giving a few dollars at a time — and we can't afford to fall behind on the amount of funding it'll take to keep up this urgent and important work.
Keep fighting,
Women’s March
P.S. Women's March is one of the *only* organizations who are actively organizing to remove Ted Cruz from office this early in the election cycle — and we're not just stopping with Cruz, John. We're planning to kick the entire slate of Trump's allies in the Sedition Caucus out of office, so please donate $3 to support our early organizing work today.
