John,

In just one month, voters in New Mexico’s first congressional district will vote in one of the first and most important special elections of the Biden administration.

Democrats have a phenomenal candidate in Melanie Stansbury: A member of the New Mexico House of Representatives who has been a tireless champion for our families and our environment.

This race will set the tone for 2022. If we can win this race (and it’s a big “if”) we’ll show Republicans that we’re serious about holding our House majority. If we lose? That’s seriously bad news for House Democrats trying to hold onto purple districts across the country.

And there’s another challenge: Democrats have historically low voter turnout in special elections. Melanie needs significant resources to drive up voter turnout and get their message out to voters.

This is our first big test of the midterms. Please, make a donation to support Melanie’s campaign today. We cannot let this seat fall into Republican hands.

I know this may feel like just one House race—what’s the big deal? But the fact is, it’s a referendum on the Republican party and what it stands for.

New Mexico Republicans are confident they can win this race—their candidate is a self-funder who has already released a series of negative ads about Melanie and lied about her record.

So I’m asking you to step up to support Melanie today. Your support will make sure her campaign can keep their ads on their air and reach as many voters as possible in the final stretch of this race.

Thank you,
Kirsten
