Public defenders, trial attorneys,
and advocates for workers, civil rights, and environmental protections have been severely underrepresented within our federal judiciary while individuals from corporate and prosecutorial legal backgrounds have been fast-tracked to the bench. Our federal judiciary must reflect the depth of experience across all corners of the legal profession and the country.

By ensuring that a variety of backgrounds and life experiences are brought to bear when judges consider the cases that affect our daily lives, we not only improve the accuracy and legitimacy of judicial decisions, but ultimately strengthen the very foundation of our democracy.
