Senate Majority Leader Schumer says he plans to put the For the People Act up for a vote in August. But its passage is not certain. Conservative lawmakers have been working around the clock to weaken the widespread support for this bill.

We must do everything in our power in the next 11 weeks to gain the support of senators in key states who will be critical in deciding the fate of this bill. If we fail -- it’s going to make it much harder to stop conservative-controlled legislatures from deploying partisan gerrymandering in congressional districts across the country with ruthless precision.
