I'm thrilled to let you know I just introduced new legislation to ban offshore drilling along the Southern California coast. I'm optimistic we'll get it out of the House and to the Senate -- where Mitch McConnell can no longer prevent it from being heard.
After the past few years of battling the Trump administration's attempt to reinstate offshore drilling, it’s critical that we enshrine this environmental protection into law while we can.
We can't continue letting offshore drilling threaten our beautiful beaches, vibrant marine life, and ocean-based economy. It's long past time to prioritize our natural environment -- not the fossil fuel companies that pollute our waters.
