My mom was the first person in her family to get a college degree. She got an undergraduate degree in mathematics, graduated DU law in 1966, and traveled to the former Soviet Union repeatedly to help Jewish Refuseniks escape religious persecution. She grew up at a time where she knew people who had back alley abortions because it was not legal to get a medically safe abortion. She spent decades fighting for the causes that we care so deeply about and the ones that we are committed to fighting for here at the CDP: racial and environmental justice, workers’ rights, and the fundamental right to make choices about our lives and our own bodies.
These represent a few of the many issues we are fighting for. Meanwhile, the NRA and people like Ted Cruz used the opportunity to post snarky content on twitter, with Cruz taking low blows at the women and non- binary folks we’re also fighting our tails off for.
