Right now, a dark-money group is pouring money into New Hampshire, friends. And if you give me a minute, I'd like to tell you why they've spent millions going after me.
When you go to the doctor, you shouldn't get stuck with unexpected medical bills – but that's the reality for millions of Americans every year, even if they have insurance. The average cost of a surprise medical bill for inpatient care that's out-of-network is over $2,000 – a huge sticker shock for working families.
That's why I'm fighting as hard as I can in the Senate to make sure everyone can get the health care they need – without a surprise bill at the end. Physician staffing companies – at the direction of the greedy Wall Street firms that own them – manipulate our health care system. They take advantage of unsuspecting patients who go to see doctors they think will be covered by their health insurance, when they really won't, and so they end up with a surprise bill. That's wrong, plain and simple, and Congress has a responsibility to make it stop.
But surprise medical bills are big moneymakers for these shady companies – and that's why they're coming after me. Well, I don't give out free passes to corporations who try to take advantage of sick people. Granite Staters sent me to Congress to fight for people – not big business – but I can't keep up this fight without your help today.
The only way we can prevent dark-money groups funded by Wall Street from jeopardizing affordable health care is if we protect New Hampshire's Senate seat to take back the Senate for Democrats – and the only way we can win in New Hampshire is if we can match these dark-money groups, dollar-for-dollar. But right now we're $2,537 short of where we need to be before our midnight deadline, so I'm counting on you to chip in right now.
If you think we should protect affordable health care, fight back against special interest dark-money donors and take back the Senate for Democrats, I'm counting on you to donate every dollar you can right now before our midnight deadline.
