I’m sure that like me, you’ve been on many video calls in the past year where kids popped in view or needed attention. For so many, this past year has exacerbated inequity in this country, especially when it comes to caring for children.

The impact our alums are making is undeniable, which is why it’s so important to do everything we can to support them.

At Emerge, we know that ‘moms’ are as diverse and different as the communities they live and lead in, and today we’re celebrating all of them.

Thanks to the support of this network, we’re watching our alums who are moms make a huge difference for families across the country – from leading the fight for paid parental leave to redefining childcare as a campaign cost so women can run – the impact we’re already seeing from this work is just the beginning.

We have so many alums who are pulling double-duty, juggling jobs, campaigning, and parenting during a pandemic – but it’s because of them that family-first policies are being introduced for the first time in decades.
