Join the discussion on the Constitution, civil discourse, and the courts JUST ANNOUNCED: U.S. Supreme Court Associate Justice Stephen G. Breyer Joins Final Exchange Session on May 28 Justice Breyer on the Constitution, Civil Discourse, and the Courts Friday, May 28 U.S. Supreme Court Associate Justice Stephen G. Breyer joins National Constitution Center President and CEO Jeffrey Rosen to discuss the Constitution, civil discourse, and the courts. This student-focused program is an excellent way to wrap up your school year by examining our founding documents and our civic dispositions. Justice Breyer will also discuss his career as a justice and answer questions from students. REGISTER Live Classes on the Second Amendment This Week In this session, students will: Engage in a conversation on different viewpoints and debates surrounding the Second Amendment by using the National Constitution Center’s Interactive Constitution. Analyze the Second Amendment’s text and history and how the Supreme Court has interpreted it over time. Build understanding of the resources and methods used by Supreme Court justices and constitutional scholars when analyzing and forming opinions related to this provision. Join Us For A Professional Development Workshop Tomorrow on the Second Amendment Tuesday, May 11, 2021, 3:30 to 5 p.m. PT/ 6:30 to 8 p.m. ET Gain some additional insight into the Second Amendment before participating in a Scholar Exchange with your students next week. Tom Donnelly, senior fellow for constitutional studies at the National Constitution Center and a familiar face on the Exchanges, will discuss the origins of the amendment as well as key cases. Educators will learn about the Center’s educational framework and online resources to support student learning, and explore different viewpoints and debates surrounding the Second Amendment.
