If people weren't worried about rent, healthcare and feeding their kids we would see a dramatic decline in this type of violence, but a fascist government- that is a government run by corporations- just doesn't care. This is tragic. When I first heard someone imply that intentional poverty was violence, I thought "Well, THAT's a bit of a stretch!" But what we are seeing is the result of a long-term systematic poverty. This is a political choice. Our government could end homelessness with $20 billion a year, which is only 5% of the military budget. They just don't. And despite popular belief, it isn't one party or the other. Corporate rule and mass poverty is a bi-partisan policy. This is why I truly believe that the People's Party is the last best hope for humanity.
