Email from Brand New Congress

John,

There are around 15 million single moms in this country, raising 22 million kids. And every day those women try and balance jobs, school, children, and other priorities, such as aging parent care.

I know how hard this is because, although my kids are now grown, I raised them as a single working mother.

So it’s no wonder more women of young children don’t add running for elected office to their overflowing plates. Even women with a strong network of support find that juggling act all but impossible.

There are only two single moms serving in Congress today -- BNC Rep. Cori Bush being the latest.

We need more mothers with young children and single mothers in Congress. Only then can we prioritize the issues and create legislation that will have the greatest impact on women, working families, and the economy.

Millions of single moms work in low wage jobs with no paid leave. And a huge percentage of their pay goes toward housing and childcare, leaving little to nothing for them to save or get ahead. Meanwhile, millionaires, billionaires and corporations are getting richer and richer.

Brand New Congress is committed to electing a truly representative government of the people and for the people -- and that means more moms in the House and Senate.

The good news is that more and more moms are running for office. It’s our job to help them win against powerful incumbents who answer to corporations and billionaires.

Pitch in $25 today so Brand New Congress can provide the crucial services and support candidates need to win their elections.

We hope you’re able to celebrate with your mother today. But you know what’s even better than Facetime and flowers? Sending moms to Congress.
