Pramila was on The Rachel Maddow Show last week to discuss her work to end the filibuster and deliver for the people. Maddow even said Pramila is, “one of the most powerful and interesting players” in Washington right now.
Pramila is working hard to end the filibuster and win progressive policies in Congress, but she can only do it with your support. Chip in $3 right now to help Pramila continue leading on the bold, transformative change we need.

Subject: The movement to end the filibuster is growing
In a few minutes, I am going to ask you to rush a donation toward our people-powered movement for transformative change. But first, I wanted to explain why our efforts to take down a significant roadblock to real progress are so important.
Last week, President Biden finished his first 100 days in office. As he addressed the nation, he outlined the incredible, life-saving work that his administration had accomplished so far — from shots in arms and money in pockets to a historic slate of executive actions on a range of issues.
And today, as Chair of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, I want to share what WE accomplished and passed in the House during that same time:
- The For the People Act to end voter suppression and get big money out of politics
- The Equality Act to protect LGBTQIA+ people all across the country from discrimination in housing, health care, education, and other public accommodations
- The Dream Act, which provides a path to citizenship for immigrants who came to this country as children
- The Paycheck Fairness Act to guarantee equal pay for equal work
- Gun safety legislation to save lives
- The George Floyd Justice in Policing Act to take on police brutality
- DC statehood
- Environmental legislation to protect our public lands
- The PRO Act to protect workers and their right to organize
- The NO BAN and Access to Counsel Acts to protect civil rights and civil liberties
- And that's not even the entire list!
Each one of these bills is urgent, necessary, and popular. But each one is going NOWHERE until the Senate repeals the Jim Crow filibuster — and stops allowing Mitch McConnell to have the power to block any and every piece of the people's agenda.
I'm calling on the Senate to take immediate action because the change voters demanded last year can NOT wait. But I can’t do this alone. Can you chip in $3 or more to fuel our work to end the filibuster once and for all?
Chip in $3
It's clear that if we have any hope of delivering the bold and meaningful reforms that our communities need, the filibuster must GO. It's voting rights OR the filibuster. It's a $15 minimum wage OR the filibuster. It's humane immigration reform OR the filibuster. It's LGBTQ+ equality OR the filibuster. It's racial justice OR the filibuster.
Our call for reform is not new or radical. Over the years, the Senate has updated its rules in response to the needs of the times. For example, in 1975, the Senate lowered the threshold for ending a filibuster to 60 Senators. In 2013, the Senate eliminated the filibuster entirely for federal executive branch appointees and judicial appointments. Most recently, it eliminated the filibuster for Supreme Court nominees.
Nearly 100 of my colleagues from across the Democratic caucus are urging the Senate to end the filibuster. This week, members of Congress joined outside groups in hosting events around the country where we discussed the countless ways the filibuster is blocking our progress. And this is just the start of our work to build the grassroots pressure necessary to finally bring change to the Senate — and to America.
Getting this done won't be easy, but if we can keep building a movement big enough to show senators that the only path to progress is eliminating this outdated roadblock — we will win. Chip in $3 or more now to support this vital work.
In solidarity,
Pramila
