Today is Mother’s Day, and like many of you, I spend the day thinking about the women in my life and everything they taught me.
I would not be where I am today without them, and many of the strong convictions I hold are because of them. One, in particular, is my strong belief that healthcare is a human right.
19 years ago, my mother passed away from breast cancer. My wife Maria has also bravely fought breast cancer.
They were both lucky because they had health insurance. A lot of Americans can’t say the same.
My mother and wife’s experiences have helped define my stance on healthcare. Their story, and the story of millions of other Americans, are why I support Medicare for All.
On this Mother’s Day, I want to hear from you. Take our survey and let me know if you support Medicare for All, and if you do, why:
I support Medicare for all because:
- No Americans should worry about losing health insurance when they lose a job.
- No Americans should be one fall or one slip away from bankruptcy.
- No Americans should hesitate to retire just because they’re years away from Medicare.
It’s just wrong that over 33 million Americans lack insurance, especially during this pandemic.
You know where I stand, but I want to know if you feel the same way. Click here to let me know where you stand on Medicare for All >>
Thank you for hearing me out, and happy Mother’s Day.
