You know Sanford Bishop as a congressman, but I know him as my husband, the father of our daughter, and a doting grandfather to our granddaughter.

Throughout our marriage, he has been a constant source of support and encouragement. I’ve been proud to watch him take our values at home and use them to guide his work on behalf of American women and girls.

Sanford co-sponsored the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act and the Equality Act in the House. He proudly voted for the Violence Against Women Act and in favor of expanding access to child care for all Americans – and that’s just a small sample of his work over the years.
