Welcome to another edition of Ft Now! After another week of important news across the country, let’s get right to business! First up, California is giving 76,000 prison inmates the opportunity for early release in an extreme move by the Newsom Administration. Next up, Gov. Kristi Noem and Dr. Ben Carson are standing up for patriotic education in America’s schools. Finally, in a new poll, most Georgians oppose the relocation of the MLB All-Star Game over the new voting law.

76,000 California inmates now eligible for earlier releases
What Happened:
California is set to give 76,000 prison inmates - including violent and repeat felons - the opportunity for early release. 20,000 of these inmates are serving life sentences without parole.
Why You Should Care:
By classifying the changes to early release rules as “emergency regulations,” Gov. Newsom and his administration were able to institute them without even consulting the public. But can someone explain why releasing thousands of criminals onto the streets is an emergency?
What Happens Next:
It looks like Gov. Newsom’s one-sided decisions aren’t stopping anytime soon. As State Sen. Jim Nielsen pointed out, “He’s putting us all at greater risk and there seems to be no end to the degree to which he wants to do that.”

Dr. Carson & Gov. Noem: Biggest cultural challenge of our lifetime: Defeating anti-American indoctrination
What Happened:
In an opinion piece, South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem and Dr. Ben Carson argue against anti-American curriculums - like the controversial Critical Race Theory - being taught in America’s schools.
Why You Should Care:
Gov. Noem and Dr. Carson pointed out that too many children in public schools today are taught that America is inherently evil, racist, and “ultimately irredeemable.” To counter anti-American indoctrination, they support “The 1776 Pledge to Save Our Schools,” which promotes patriotic education and would prohibit divisive curriculums.
What Happens Next:
While Democrats at both the state and federal level are working hard to make anti-American education become the norm, Gov. Noem and Dr. Carson are fighting back - and calling for like-minded Americans to stand up as well.

AJC poll: Georgians oppose All-Star game’s removal over voting law
What Happened:
According to a new AJC poll, a majority of Georgians oppose the MLB’s decision to relocate the All-Star Game over the state’s new voting law.
Why You Should Care:
The same poll also showed that 60% of Georgians oppose companies shaping political opinions or “promoting cultural change,” which points to growing dissatisfaction with ‘woke’ corporations. Is anyone really surprised?
What Happens Next:
In addition to the MLB facing significant pushback for moving the All-Star Game, companies like Coca-Cola have also experienced the consequences of corporate political activism with widespread boycotts. It remains to be seen if the MLB All-Star game will be boycotted as well.
