Folks, 

Growing up, my mom had a saying, “God helps those who help themselves.”

As a single mother, she taught my brother and me the meaning of hard work and the importance of service to others.

She rooted us on at Little League games and volunteered at church festivals, all while putting in the hours to support our family. While she never went to college herself, she made sure her sons could receive a good education and encouraged us to pursue our dreams.

Above all, my mom always believed in me. And as far as mothering goes, that is everything.

Whether you’re celebrating the moms in your life or being celebrated yourself, I’m wishing all of you a very Happy Mother’s Day.

Time for me to go hug my wife and call my mom!
