‌John — this is low, even for a Republican challenger.

National Republicans launched a new candidate against Lucy this week. This candidate even launched his first ad, calling Lucy a “weak-kneed politician who would rather hug than fight” — even while using an image of her praying in a church pew over the loss of her son.

Let’s make something clear. There is nothing “weak-kneed” about Lucy taking on the gun lobby after her son was murdered.

There is nothing weak-kneed about demanding Congress pass legislation to keep our families safe and then standing up to flip a seat in the deep South.

There’s nothing weak-kneed about fighting back against the GOP’s repeated attempts to disenfranchise Black Georgia voters.
