Save your spot for our Spring Soirée this coming Thursday May 13th at 7:00 p.m. EST!

Dear Friend,
Join us for a spellbinding evening as we celebrate the stories of unaccompanied immigrant children and their Waymakers. Travel along as we take you on the 10,000-mile journey of one child’s riveting tale and her search for safety via a live theatrical presentation featuring former unaccompanied immigrant child Vida Opoku and her Young Center Child Advocate Jajah Wu.

Additional highlights include musical performances by Grammy-nominated folk ensemble Sones de México, a powerful poetry reading, and an update from Policy Director Jennifer Nagda on what is currently happening at the border.

We will also celebrate and honor the Young Center’s Founder and Executive Director Maria Woltjen with the inaugural Waymaker Child Advocate Award, to be presented by Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro, a powerful ally for immigrant children.

A fascinating evening you won’t want to miss. Get your tickets now and check out our online auction to help immigrant children find safety!

The Young Center works with the most vulnerable unaccompanied and separated immigrant children in federal custody, so their voices are heard, and their best interests are protected. We also advocate for an immigration system that treats children as children. To learn more about work, visit theyoungcenter.org or follow us on social media. Click here to donate.
