The well-respected Lugar Center-McCourt School Bipartisan Index shows that I’m among the top bipartisan members of Congress. I’m a Congressman willing to put partisan games aside to do what’s best for my constituents.

That’s rare these days.

I’m proud to be on this list not only because it means that I’m able to work alongside my Republican colleagues to actually pass legislation that will help the American people, but also because it represents the no-nonsense spirit of our district in Northeastern Pennsylvania.

However, it also puts me at risk.

The GOP is hoping to unseat me and put in place a far-right ideologue who would plummet to the bottom of that list. He would fight unhinged battles to “prove” the 2020 election was stolen instead of representing our people and their needs.

The national GOP apparatus is less concerned with who will best represent voters in Congress and more worried about getting back into power no matter the cost.

They’ve decided to make me one of their top targets in 2022, and if they win, we’d not only lose PA-08 to far-right extremism, but we’d risk losing Congress.

Help me stay in Congress to be a rare voice for compromise and decency. I know this is going to be a tough race, so I need my supporters to step up now more than ever.
