Team, we need the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act (VRAA), and here's why:
Named for the civil rights hero, Congressman John Lewis, this legislation will protect every Americans' right to be heard in our democracy. It will put the teeth back in the Voting Rights Act of 1965 and put an end to the countless acts of voter suppression happening across the country -- including this recent act of voter suppression in Pennsylvania:

"Pa. Republicans eyeing tighter voter ID requirements to meet wall of Wolf veto"
|
Pennsylvania Republicans want to put a measure on the ballot that will ask voters to repeal statewide voter protection laws, like no excuse mail-in voting and the law that allows absentee ballots to be received late or after election day.
This is a shameless attempt at voter suppression, friend. And what's worse -- it's happening around the country.
The longer Congress waits to take action, the more likely these voter suppression laws will see the light of day. Will you add your name now to call on Congress to pass the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act?
The best way to honor the late Congressman John Lewis's legacy is by passing this groundbreaking voting rights bill into law.
Onward,
