Dear John,
A mother’s love creates sanctuary.
Some moms, like Cynthia goat, are there to nurture their kids from the start. Others, like Jackie cow, have so much love to give that they embrace anyone in need—like Dixon, the first orphaned calf she took on as her own. Then, there are mother figures like Henrietta turkey who encourage and support us just by being there.
These beautiful moms are such great anchors because Farm Sanctuary keeps them safe.
This Mother's Day, help us nurture a new generation of compassion at Farm Sanctuary.
With a one-time donation of $35, you can “adopt” Jackie & Dixon, Cynthia & Bruce, or Henrietta. Your support helps with their continued care and offers them the greatest gift of all: the ability to love their children for life.
In thanks, we’ll send you a digital adoption certificate featuring your chosen family. Print it for yourself or pass it along to the people who always have your back! Farm animal sponsorships make heartfelt gifts for the moms, mother-figures, and other loved ones in your life.

Jackie & Dixon
|
Jackie arrived at the slaughterhouse with a newborn son. They were turned over to rescuers, but tragically, her child was ill and passed away before arriving at Sanctuary. However, when this grieving mama met Dixon, an orphaned calf, she welcomed him into her heart. Now, when other calves need a mother, Jackie’s there for them too. A mother once is a mother forever.

Cynthia & Bruce
|
Cynthia and Bruce were among 170+ survivors rescued from a backyard butcher. Cynthia clung to his side, making it clear they belonged together. They’ve helped each other heal and now, they’re some of our most outgoing goats! The two continue to play and snuggle together. Getting to watch your baby grow up is one of the greatest joys of motherhood—and Cynthia doesn't want to miss a moment.

Henrietta
|
Henrietta may have a tough exterior, but she’s a grandmotherly figure to our smallest chickens! Despite never knowing her mother or having her own poults, she’s a protective, kindred spirit for these once-orphaned chicks—and it’s easy to see that their bond means as much to her as it does them. The meat industry can never change who birds are: flock-oriented, social creatures who thrive with love.

In animal agriculture, mothers rarely get to mother. But by adopting a family this Mother’s Day, we can continue our work to keep more families like theirs together.
With love,
