John:
I’m upset.
Why? Because I just watched Rep. Josh Hawley’s interview with the Washington Post from earlier this week, and John, I was really disappointed by what I saw.
When asked if in the aftermath of the January 6 insurrection, he regretted greeting protesters with a fist in the air, Rep. Hawley answered with:
“I waved to them, gave them the thumbs-up, pumped my fist to them and thanked them for being there, and they had every right to do that.”
John, I’ll be honest — it’s been hard to work in the halls of our government with my Republican colleagues who incited what happened on January 6 and then belittled the seriousness of that day's events in its aftermath.
What keeps me going is knowing that while the GOP plays games and fights culture wars, my Democratic colleagues are putting in the hard work to enact progressive policies and end the pandemic.
We’re able to do so thanks to the support of donors like you. Democrats rallied together last year and used our combined resources to elect Joe Biden & Kamala Harris and Democratic majorities in the House and Senate.
And if we are going to continue our fight to unseat corrupt GOP officials and replace them with Democrats working to create meaningful change, we need your help again.
Thank you,
Rep. Eric Swalwell
