What a week! We’re used to having crazy busy weeks here on the 9th Floor, but this was one for record books.

We shuttered a state board that failed to do its job ([link removed]) , we issued an Executive Order to meet exploding job demand ([link removed]) and then we celebrated Arizona’s hardworking teachers ([link removed]) - on Monday! On Tuesday we blazed a new trail for higher education ([link removed]) . On Wednesday morning we announced a new housing director and a major financial commitment to combat homelessness ([link removed]) . By the time 5 o’clock rolled around we dramatically expanded telehealth
([link removed]) , signed historic water legislation ([link removed]) and protected personal property rights ([link removed]) .

Governor Ducey Signs Bill To Expand Opportunities For Community College Students ([link removed])
Governor Ducey signed legislation allowing community colleges to offer four-year degrees, paving the way for Arizona’s current and future workforces and expanding opportunities for populations that are historically underrepresented in higher education.

Arizona Announces $9 Million For Child Care Providers ([link removed])
Governor Ducey and the Arizona Department of Economic Security announced an additional $9 million in aid for child care providers throughout the state. As the Arizona economy continues to strengthen, today’s funding for the Child Care Workforce Retention and Recruitment Grant Program will be critical in ensuring child care is available for Arizonans reentering the workforce.
